Since the age of dinosaurs the chikilidae has burrowed unbothered beneath the monsoon-soaked soils of remote northeast India, unknown to science and mistaken by many villagers as a deadly, miniature snake...Further details in an AP report at the Huffington Post. That is so cool the way the egg is transparent and the entire vasculature is visible.

ReplyDeleteNo. They are caecilians - a type of amphibian (along with frogs and salamanders). Lizards are reptiles.
