Top - University Club Library (New York), photo by Peter Bond.
Middle - Yale's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library (New Haven), photo by Lauren Manning.
Bottom - Admont Abbey Library (Austria), photo by Ognipensierovo.
I found these three in a group of fifteen photos at Pix Grove.
The middle one looks like the liabry of the future, sort of.
ReplyDeleteAmazing (somewhat visible in the picture): The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library (Yale) has no windows. Instead, the walls are made of squares of translucent marble.
ReplyDeleteReminiscent of an awesome post at David Byrne's journal: Sintra — A Mystical Home in the Clouds (library with mirrored floor is about 3/4th's of the way through the post)
ReplyDeleteI had not heard of Sintra. Thank you, Z.
ReplyDelete(Fletcher in Portugal, take note...)
I like the Long Room library at Trinity College, Dublin best.
