"Blue Kentucky Girl"

A classic performance by the original "coal miner's daughter," Loretta Lynn ( a different performance of hers is here).   The song was revitalized by Emmylou Harris in 1979, when she won a Grammy for the album with this title (which I still have in vinyl); a video of a very young Emmylou Harris singing this song is posted here, but embedding has been diabled.

Posted to celebrate the news that a Kentucky girl is moving up a corporate ladder.

  1. Seeing video of Loretta Lynn often reminds me of what an amazing performance Sissy Spacek gave in the movie. Love 'em both.
