Unwalkable beach in the Azores

  1. Several years ago I was on Dauphin Island when a cluster of Portguese man-o-wars washed up on the beach. I was very glad when they went out with the next tide, not only because they made it difficult to walk on the beach but also because they're lovely creatures.

  2. At the Melbourne, FL, beach in probably 1971 or so, we ran down the beach popping the bubbles. Didn't know any better. Still apparently got a small dose of stinging...cried on the way home.
