During this downtime, I'm going to continue the now-tradition here of giving readers an opportunity to promote their own blogs. To see what the result will look like, see last year's post: 59 blogs authored by TWYKIWDBI readers.
I started doing this in 2009 as "Small Blog Appreciation Day," but quickly realized that many of your blogs are larger and older than mine. In 2009 there were 18 blogs in the list, last year 59. It'll be interesting to see how many get listed this year. The process is simple: write in the comment section of this post...
- your blog's name,
- its url, and
- summarize its purpose and content in a few sentences.
This next part is important, and I'll quote from last year's guidelines:
This project has to be limited to TYWKIWDBI readers, for obvious reasons. I'm expecting to get a few dozen replies, but I can't accommodate the great unwashed public of a million bloggers out there, so please don't mention this promotion on your blog unless you want to do so after the list has been compiled and published.
And for this same reason, I will need some confirmation that you are a participant here. If you are a regular or occasional commenter, I will recognize your name (for this event, saying that your are "anonymous" won't hack it). Alternatively, if you have linked to TYWKWDBI (ever) or have TYWKIWDBI in your blogroll in a sidebar, that would be sufficient. If you think I won't recognize you, or if you are typically a "lurker" and your link to TYWKIWDBI was long ago, you might mention it in your summary.
I'll probably compile the list some time after April 15, to allow the once-a-week readers time to spot this and participate if they want to, but the sooner you add your info to the Comments, the sooner people might get curious and visit you.
Bye.
Hello hello. I am a TYWKIWDBI lurker mostly, but this seems like a fun thing to participate in. I make Tank Hughes Dot Com.
ReplyDeleteURL: www.tankhughes.com
SUMMARY: I write enthusiastic posts about the history of words, I create a comic every Monday, I make short music playlists based on themes, and I think up odd useless projects (see I Loaf Geography & Alphabet Souperhero).
Perfect. You'll be first on the list!
Deletehello.
ReplyDeletei hardly ever say anything here since i often don't have anything to add to the conversation besides "uh-huh", or "that's interesting, thank you" and i don't see any point in commenting just to have commented.
even so, i am bewildered in that a significant portion of traffic to my blog comes in from here, which mystifies me a little.
my blog isn't really written for attracting traffic; it is simply my own story or part of my story, or at least a view from my window or hints about what's on my worktable.
in recent news, i am collecting 56 pennies, have made miniature party hats, have improved my running pace to a blazing 15 minute mile, and have taken some lovely pictures of crocuses.
do not miss this excitement.
really. soon i am going to tell about beans, beans, fritos and cheese, and there will be pictures.
you can find me here:
furthermore, flask
It doesn't seem likely that I have been driving any traffic to your blog. What may be happening is that you look at TYWKIWDBI, then at your own blog, and the metrics record your arrival as having "come from" TYWKIWDBI. Just a guess.
DeleteHahaha! Last week I had the honor of seeing my name here at TY, having posted a comment on one of his posts from 2010, which TY revisited using my comment. I thought "oh boy, all these TYWK readers will flock to see who left such a great comment...hahaha!
DeleteMy sitemeter showed I got one visit from here, and it was my friend Susan!
So not only do a very low percentage of folks actually comment here, its a rare bird that will follow a link.
Of course the thrill for me was to think I had somehow added to the discussion!
Oh, and Flask? I liked your blog.
DeleteHi! Ive been reading a while, this is my first time commenting. I just started a blog called "Scotty Mo's Double Feature"
ReplyDeletescottymosdoublefeature.blogspot.com
I'm taking every movie in my 600+ DVD collection, pairing them up, and talking about why they work together, and what they mean to me. Posts are usually succinct and amusing. I love TYWKIWDBI!!
HI
ReplyDeleteI'm basically a lurker (I may have commented on a post or two), but TYWKIWDBI is in my RSS feed, and I read every post.
I have two blogs:
Lightbender
http://lastlightbender.blogspot.com/
is what I call 'a journal of the creative process', which basically means that I show and talk about my work (both in-process and finished pieces) and occasionally post about other interesting art related things.
A Photo A Day
http://tylersphotoaday.blogspot.com/
s where I post an original photo (nearly) every day, and write a few comments on each one.
I'm a longtime RSSer. Tywkiwdbi is like having conversations with an interesting, eccentric neighbor.
ReplyDeletehttp://setecq.tumblr.com is my blog. It's largely my photos of things around NYC, along with interesting reading, creations by friends, and miscellany.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI'm also mostly a lurker, but TYWKIWDBI is one of my fav. blogs in my RSS feed. My blog...
Theory Fighter
http://theoryfighter.blogspot.com/
A blog about video game theory. I took a very long break from it, but recently decided to get back into writing. Now, I mostly cover video game related events that I attend (lectures, seminars, workshops). There isn't much coverage of these events in the blogosphere.
Traveling Maia
ReplyDeletetravelingmaia.blogspot.com
Travels (mostly to Europe and South Seas) by boat and bike, with snippets/curiosities/observations about food, science, snark, and other.
One Word, Essays, meanderings and mutterings, lots of cat photos. That's all, really. No point, no agenda, very personal.
ReplyDeletehttp://onewordisenough.blogspot.com/
"If you don't know me by now, you will never, ever, ever know me... ."
I don't really foster new traffic, happy with my score of regulars, but what the hey. I do love you tywkidbi.
I like stealing things and I write book and movie reviews, mainly for my own sadistic pleasure. I've also written several historical and cultural essays. It is a form of a treatment, I am weird, I know. I do love visiting here and...er... stealing posts. However, I always plead guilty if charged. Pretty pictures can make my day.

Tread Life
ReplyDeletehttp://treadlife.blogspot.com/
It's about motorcycles, which I started riding in 1968, and now and then it's about writing about motorcycles for a living, which I've done since 1980. Also some stuff about dogs. Some curveballs, too.
I just started a page to collect things off the net that interest me. Mostly humor and posts I'd like to refer back to -
ReplyDeleteits called - forMYinformation....http://trickpa-formyinformation.blogspot.com/
Sarmatian in the SCA
ReplyDeletesarmatianinthesca.blogspot.com
I'm in the Society for Creative Anachronism (a living history group) and have a Sarmatian persona (one of the Eurasian steppe nomad cultures). This blog is where I am compiling everything I learn about them plus my other experiences in the SCA. I supply my references at the end of each post but don't cite in text to make it more readable by a general audience.
Greetings:
ReplyDeleteYou neglected to mention if blogs on last year's list would automatically be on this one. In case they are not, here I am: http://thetownscryer.blogspot.com/. I occasionally comment here, but haven't much lately. "The Town Scryer is a mixed bag of humor, socio-political observations and ephemera from the perspective of a eclectic Pagan veteran of the counter-culture."
Good point. No, everyone needs to "re-up" with new info.
DeleteTwelve Mile Circle is an appreciation of unusual places. It's all about spots on the map that just don’t seem to make sense. Highpoints, non-contiguous boundaries, latitude/longitude confluences, and other trivial geographic facts are all fair game for my adventures.
ReplyDeleteTYWKIWDBI was kind enough to feature content from one of my articles last year (Clapper Bridges). It was much appreciated. I hope I continue to have content that meets that standard.
I'm just finishing up a trip through China to research a book about Chinese street food. My blog, www.chinesestreetfood.com, is the companion piece to the future book. The blog includes reviews of Chinese street food (which varies widely from city to city and province to province--I've now eaten the street food in 53 cities in 32 of the 33 Chinese provinces), information about travel in China, and other bits of mostly relevant information I find interesting. The quantity of content is relatively low at the moment, but there will be much more coming in the next few months as I compile my research into a book. I hope you (and your readers) find my work as interesting as I do the contents on your site!
ReplyDeletePS: You might consider me a traditional lurker at TYWKIWDBI...I have never commented, but I check in almost every day and frequently share links on Facebook. Naturally I have no way of proving this; hopefully I seem trustworthy enough to believe.
DeleteExcellent! I spent two months in China and some of the best food was off the street. Definitely adding yours to my reading list.
DeleteI don't remember if I've ever commented here before, but I've been reading for quite a while. My blog is CascadeExposures.com I post my own photos Mon-Fri, with little or no commentary. They're mostly stuff from my garden, places around the northwest, or anything else that I see and like. Visitors welcome!
ReplyDeleteMy Idea of Paradise
ReplyDeletehttp://myideaofparadise.blogspot.com/
Becoming a mom in recent years has brought a whole new perspective to my work as a pediatrician. This blog is my way of sharing those experiences with others. Most of the topics are child/family focused and are meant to help, inspire, or amuse its readers.

Thanks so much, Stan!
James Comins
Long time lurker - always love seeing your interesting and wonderful posts.
ReplyDeleteいきましょう - Let's go! oki-ok.blogspot.jp
A blog following our family's life and adventures in Okinawa, Japan.
Hello All,
ReplyDeleteLong time reader, love your blog and thanks for this opportunity. I am an artist, animator and teacher. I have many blogs to promote my work and programs, but here is one I don't promote often.
Inkfumes Sketchbook "Just the rough stuff"
http://inkfumes.wordpress.com
This is my personal blog for illustrations, doodles and sketches. No digital stuff, mostly scans from my sketchbooks and what not.
Hello! I love your blog, Minnesotan. I mostly lurk, comment sometimes, and participated in last year's SBAD.
ReplyDeletePeople who read TYWKIWDBI might also like the blog I edit: Offbeat Home.
Have a good blogcation!
Hey, I love your name "Cat Rocketship" and your Offbeat Home is GOOD!
DeleteHello there. Yeah, I've been lurking here for.. ages. I'm not sure if I've -ever- commented, but usually when I read your different blog posts, it just teaches me something new that I've never actually knew before, like the sororal twins being fraternal female twins, or about that weird swedish dish. Was it surstrumming? I intend to try/make that one day. ONE DAY.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, this is my blog. I'm That Crazy American Housewife.
URL: http://thecrazyamericanwoman.blogspot.de/
Its pretty lame and I haven't had a chance to post in a little under a month, but if you or the rest care to read, its pretty random. You'll find a few recipes, crafts, activities, and.. well. its random. Very random like myself.
Lurker who comes here to reap inspiration.
ReplyDeleteMy blog is braddlibby.wordpress.com, where I write mostly about PEER issues (Population, Economics, Environment, Resources), though occasionally about physics and chickens and Google and such.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to introduce my new blog, Stan.
For the last couple of years, I’ve been a daily reader and sometimes commenter on TYWKIWDBI. Although I’ve authored several websites for many years, I started my first ever blog in December: “David Crews – Essays, Poems, & Musings on Life, Spirit, Entheogens, and What Is Real.”
That big title about covers it. It’s a philosophical and arts blog for my writing, pro photography, travel, poetry, digital artwork, and more, posted as the Muses allow. I have some 50 years of original material and lots of new content to share.
One of my main goals was to re-introduce a long essay, published as a five-post series called “Ancient Songs and Green Magic,” on my experiences with Amazonian shamanism. It explains the ritual use of Ayahuasca, the world’s greatest plant spirit medicine. This was a life-changing experience for me, and allowed me to directly explore the great ontological mystery of our existence: “Is there something beyond the reductionist view, and if so, what is real?”
I hope you and others may find many things of interest. Thanks!

Long time lurker... first time poster...
ReplyDeleteMy blog is a fairly recent one - just bits and bobs about comics, toys, movies and process. I've recently become involved in the comic creation process (flatting and colours) - so I share the things I learn from being a newbie in comics world.
deesaturate.blogspot.com
I have been a long time lurker on this blog having come across it while surfing boing boing. And though I have never commented before this -- have been lurking like nobody's business for quite some time!! I used to maintain a blog to serve as a repository of tales, links , extracts, poetry, photographs and quotes I come across while surfing ( anything that could make people go hmmm.. or make them smile).I have called it the The Beachcomber's Delight....blog's been in limbo for some time .. but I intend to add on a very regular basis from now..
ReplyDeletehttp://thebeachcombersdelight.blogspot.in/
Name: Now I Know
ReplyDeleteURL: http://dlewis.net/nik
Description: Here's what you wrote last year :)
Dan's Now I Know is actually an email newsletter (signup here), the purpose of which is "to share something new, interesting about the world, each morning. Like the fact that carrots used to be purple, or that Abraham Lincoln created the Secret Service the day he was fatally shot, or that there's an island of hyper-poisonous snakes off the coast of Brazil."
Thanks for doing this!
Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI'm an occasional commenter, but a regular reader, and have linked to you in my blogroll at www.endomental.com.
However, I have another blog that has more of my focus lately, and that is www.iheartrhody.com.
I {heart} Rhody is a mother/daughter project. We moved to Rhode Island in 2008, and in 2010 started writing about the places we've seen and want to see in our new home state. Rhode Island is the smallest state geographically, but it has so much to offer in food, history, culture and natural beauty. We want to see it all and share it with our readers.
• A Writer's Chronicles
ReplyDelete• http://blog.williamdrichards.com
• I created my blog to be a place where I could comment about the process of writing and publishing my books, vent what thoughts may be on my mind at any given point, and make commentary that I thought would be inappropriate for my main website. It serves to help me clear my mind of miscellaneous thoughts before writing and I hope might be a point of reference and education for anyone considering following the path of becoming a writer.
You know me, Miss Cellania. My blog is smaller than it was last year, because I gave up my paid hosting service and moved everything to blogspot, got a cheaper domain registration that doesn't redirect properly, and didn't update my feeds in a timely manner. Now I have half the readers I once had, and need all the help I can get. It's mostly funny found stuff, with a few serious links thrown in. My great ideas for original posts never find time to be written.
ReplyDeleteOh. So sorry to hear that. I've been reading you for years. All the smart bloggers link to you. I'll trot on over and sign up.
DeleteI agree with Jeff, Miss C! Anyone who is anyone reads Miss C at least daily.
DeleteI love your blog, though don't comment here as often as I should. My blog is http://www.5001beers.com/ and is partly beer reviews and partly life updates. Frankly, I am not sure quite what I want my blog to be, but I just keep going for some reason.
ReplyDeleteHi! It's me, Madeline, back again from last year. I run Octopuses at www.madelinesoocopuses.blogspot.com, where I humorously remain "a humorous blog by a Virginia girl" (with a pinch of marine biology), though my camera skills have increased infinitityfold!
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of embarrassing you, I'll point out for readers who might be interested that your url is misspelled. It should be www.madelinesooctopuses.blogspot.com
DeleteSeeing what Stan could do with a blog site and what he achieved with TYWKIWDBI was the direct inspiration for me to start blogging: so thank you muchly, Stan! I was teaching a transnational postgraduate subject across several universities / countries, and needed a common platform whereby I could communicate with my students irrespective of their location or enrolment (don't get me started on universities and their idiosyncracies as far as IT platforms are concerned). So in 2008 I started a Technological Systems blog, geared for my students but interesting enough if you're into IT and its interaction with tourism and society:
ReplyDeletehttp://isy00244.blogspot.com.au/
And, to keep up with my far flung family and friends and, I guess, to express my love and rejoicing at living in one of the most beautiful places on the earth, I started my 'home' blog, "The Grange: a small farm in the Northern Rivers area of NSW" which can be found here:
http://moretons-myth.blogspot.com.au/
Once again, thank you Stan, for being such an inspiration.
My blog is CRIGGO, often promoted by my friend (above) Miss Cellania.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.criggo.com
Criggo highlights bad newspaper articles/headlines/advertisements, and has for over 3 1/2 years - over 3,500 posts at last count.
TYWKIWDBI is on my daily MUST READ list, but I rarely comment. Another week without you? YIKES! Thanks for being there, and good luck with your taxes!
Hey there! I read every post of yours, as I think you know.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog so much! And, I often get visits to TheFrustratedTeacher.com from you.
My blog is mostly about the eduwars, but I dabble in politics, and I like to share editorial cartoons, many of which you link to!
Feel free to include me, or not if you need space for someone else.
Its pretty much an honor to be in cahoots with TYWKIWDBI!

Flippism is the Key has been exploring all things strange thought to be common and all things common found to be strange since 2004. Special emphasis on Icelandic culture, photo-illustrations, a weekly cartoon and serial fiction.

Hi, I'm Lauren Villarama, a rare commenter (posted only once or twice I think), but I usually share TYWKIWDBI posts on Google+. My personal blog laurenvillarama.blogspot.com is mostly about my life's little tidbits, nothing too serious. I have pages on my film photographs and sketches, just a few of my interests. :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I read every single TYWKIWDBI post and thank my lucky stars :) Thanks so much! I have only commented a few times but love to share posts on ye olde facebooke. Caught in the Dawning is my blog. Simply it is just a collection of my poetry from over the years, with links to some of my favorite blogs. What may be more interesting is my other blog Cabbages and Kings wherein I post random art and drawings from time to time. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a regular, almost daily reader, not just for pleasure which it certainly is, but also for mining purposes. I occasionally take something from here and post in on my blog.
ReplyDeleteMikeb302000 is mainly about gun control, but I post quite a bit about liberal politics and every once in a while something of general interest and amazement, some of which comes from here.
I've been a regular reader for a year or so and occasional commenter. My blog is at Cranial Hyperossification.
ReplyDeleteI started my blog as an exploration of the adoption process from the perspective of a gay man. Now, the posts are sort of all over the board. I bowdlerize cursing so it should be safe for work.
I started my blog just trying to learn to type, and to get a little practice writing so that I didn’t send out Emails that were as unclear as the ones I was receiving. What I found was a bunch of friends I’ll likely never meet and a hobby I enjoy very much. I never would have expected 6 years ago to have made as many entries as I have, or that it would have been as much fun as it has been.
ReplyDeleteMy blog is a journal, a notebook and stories of things I’ve done and people I’ve met. I don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story, but a lot of my stories need very little embellishment. I written about some hard things, and written myself out of some dark places too.
I call myself “Bulletholes in the Mailbox”, after a line in a James McMurtry song.
Or here, if my link doesnt stick...http://srevestories.blogspot.com/
I love the randomness of what I find everyday at TY, and link to it fairly requent on FB and on occasion on the blog.
My blog is called "Once There Were Lions," and I write about ecology, biology, education, natural history, technology, current events, environmental science, and other things that happen to fall into the large Venn diagram where those things occasionally overlap. I teach 7th and 9th grade science, so it relates in some ways to that.
ReplyDeletehttp://oncetherewerelions.wordpress.com/
I've been a long time lurker here, and I find myself forwarding links to colleagues and tweeting posts of yours more often than commenting. I love wide net that you cast!
Hey there Minnesota Stan. I've had you on my blogroll for about 6 months or so as I enjoy the eclectic, catch-all, voracious-to-know-everything nature of your entries. I'm sure I've commented once or twice here -- on what or why I can't say -- and most certainly have shared you with friends.
ReplyDeleteYou can find my blog Tiny Reactors at tinyreactors.blogspot.com
I'm living on the island of Shikoku in Japan and my blog is about that, and about things I am reading or trying to read in Japanese, and the places I go in this out-of-the-way place, and the things I do -- and well, just go there and read and you'll see.
Daily reader for about 2 years (lurker, really, no more than a couple comments). A day without my Tywkiwdbi is a day with a hole in it...
ReplyDeleteI keep a visual blog with personal collage work:
www.regularpaper.blogspot.com
Come back soon.
Hi Stan,
ReplyDeleteI'm a total lurker, I usually only read your blog when my husband comes across something he thinks I'd think was interesting...which is only several times a month :)
I am a language lover and linguist-in-training, and I've started a blog about languages and linguistic diversity:
http://polyglossic.wordpress.com/
As a future scholar I'm particularly interested in endangered language preservation and revitalization, but as a person I'm also a little addicted to learning languages and to writing and literature, so all of these things get featured on my blog. I also have a weekly feature on Fridays where a native speaker gets to show off his or her language in a short audio clip and text. I hope you enjoy! And thank you for letting me share!
-Allison
I comment here infrequently (although I did write about underwear shopping on 9/11 a few posts ago), but I do enjoy your posts. I've also gone back through the previous years' lists of reader blogs, and found some interesting stuff there. I hope that mine isn't too dull.
ReplyDeleteI recently moved to the North Shore of Minnesota. At the beginning of this year I started blogging about my hiking, biking, and snowshoeing adventures. I'm planning to hike much of the Superior Hiking Trail this year, visit many state parks, and do some road races on my bike. I also write about weird and interesting stuff I find on the North Shore (like an abandoned Cold War missile launch site I found while driving around one day).
It's called Tales of the Witch of November, and it's over here: http://witchofnovember.blogspot.com/
Love this blog!
ReplyDeleteMy own is a chronicle of our American family's life in rural England: http://birdinthemachine.tumblr.com/
Thanks for the chance to post a link.

I mostly lurk, but I've commented a couple times under the name Mara (now that I'm not twelve years old, I'm comfortable posting under Piera, which is my real name. HURRAH). I've been reading since like 2009.
ReplyDeleteI used to run Radiojestica, but now I've abandoned that (sob sob) and have moved on to bigger and better things. And by "bigger and better" I mean "mostly fandom-related." I do make the occasional sciencey, arty, history-y, or otherwise good-quality post, however.
Hi and happy Easter! I have linked to your blog several times, and commented here now and again (though I'm a regular reader). My blog is Illustrated Obscurity, mostly about art, politics, culture, and random things that interest me. I also have a link to my art on the blog. illustratedobscurity.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I am an ardent fan, regular reader and occasional commenter. Hope it's not breaking the rules, but I have three blogs and would probably have more if I could find more time.
ReplyDeleteGoing Beyond Survival in a School Library is the one I work on the most since I am a K-12 librarian on the weekdays. It's a collection of book and library related miscellanea that I started when I began to convert my library to a modified bookstore model.
I am also passionate about photography and nature, and I dabble at writing. On and Over the Hills is about photography, my experiences in learning and pursuing the craft. The Nature of the Hills is an offshoot of that and more of a catalog than a blog as I attempt to record the flora and fauna specific to the unique high-altitude ecosystem of my home region.
Thank you for this opportunity and I'm looking forward to discovering some great new sites on your list.
Hi ~ I'm a long-time reader too. I started sending out a newsletter almost 10 years ago, called "Paws & Claws". We voted years ago whether to make it a blog, but, my readers prefer the personal touch of a weekly newsletter from me ~ news, jokes, videos & links gleaned from the internet. My posts are sometimes picked up by one of my readers, ED @ http://eideard.com/ where I am cited as UrsaRodinia.
ReplyDeleteI've been a lurker here for a while. My blog is called The Wild Edge, http://thewildedge.blogspot.com/, and it a little about my photography , and a little bit about my life in Maine and other things that occasionally gets my interest. I have some plans for more ,especially after a couple of hard years.
ReplyDeleteSo many other great sounding blogs!
ReplyDeleteHere is mine:
200 Word Stories
http://200wordstories.blogspot.com.au/
The following story contains exactly 200 words and is also one of 200 stories about words, which is why it is called 200 Word Stories.
Hope you like it.
Oh yeah and mostly I just read but have linked to you from my linking blog: http://disappointingchildren.com/
ReplyDeleteCheers!
I read your blog at least once a week. I like to let the posts accumulate so I can an interesting lunch hour. I may have commented once or twice (maybe)!
ReplyDeleteI blog at http://dietsinners.blogspot.com Dietetic Sinners is about food I cook, the craft projects I mess up and the things I buy (candle sand storage containers) and my life in gen'l.
I love your blog! Will add to my blogroll when I get to updating it. I've been busy learning how to add design elements to my blog and that is one page that needs redesigned=)
hello my good sir, im a longtime regular lurker of your site. Ive commented only a few times on your blog but cant remember under what name. My blog is called Sets of nine and is mainly about contemporary art with occasionally smut, nature, memes and history topics.
ReplyDeleteHere's the link:

Enjoy and thanks!
Mainly I blog about endurance riding with my Tennessee Walking Horse in the mountains of Nevada, but there's a healthy proportion of non horse stuff too. I'm at It seemed like a good idea at the time Love seeing the eclectic interests of 'Stan's other readers!

Safe for work! It's a website that I use to release my free programs and games that I program. I also post what influences my design and coding process... I have a lot of interests, so I post about them sometimes... For instance, I post about technology news, chickens, music, and I play rugby, so I post about that, too.

DeleteDoing a Blog Appreciation Day during your blogcation is a very nice initiative, thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy blog is a kind of magazine style collection of things I like and subjects that fascinate me. It’s a mix of old photos (for instance daguerreotypes), paintings, maps, actresses, etc.: www.robswebstek.com.
Thanks for offering a shout-out to bloggers far and wide . . .
ReplyDeleteThe posts for my blog concentrate on issues of craft in the writing of fiction and nonfiction, and also focus on the creative arts in general. Recent posts have examined the effective use of absence in painting, film and fiction; the difficulties of finding a good title for a novel; and how one sees the world differently when speaking a language (African) that conjugates pronouns instead of verbs. One recent post, "What Casablanca Can Teach a Writer," was a finalist for the 3QuarksDaily website's 2012 Arts & Literature Prize.

I've been a lurker for a long time, have commented occasionally here and there. I run a blog called Buttonmashing where I blog about video games (when I actually have free time).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great blog!
Hi, I found your blog by looking up the picture of the bats from your Jan, 2011 post. I looked up the image by uploading the image to Google Images. Anyways, even though I've been blogging for a few years I only have a small audience. My blog is called Kat's Almost Purrfect World and you can find it at:

Originally I created my blog to promote my eBAY Barbie Store. Then I realized I wanted to share more than just the dolls I was selling. That is when I changed it to Kat's Almost Purrfect World instead of just Kat'sPurrfect Boutique. On my blog I share free vintage images, craft tutorials, recipes, images from my daily life and more. I have a few craft and home decor posts in the "wings". Thanks for having this blog day every year. Katharine

DeleteIt's been a week now, so the window is closed for new comments. It will take me several days to compile these for the blog.
