Eye of a chameleon


I wonder if those little nodular structures have any ocular/visual function, or whether their sole purpose is to contribute to the camouflage?

  1. The colorful nodes around the central eyeball are the joined eyelids, so those are skin. Not with any visual function, just a protective one.
