With one notable difference -- this one represents the 51% minority. It's not often that girls can go into a theater and root for a action hero who looks like them.
What Fletcher said. How often can girls see a hero they can identify with? A female character who is not judged on her beauty, or seeking a romance, but simply...Brave? I cannot wait to share this with my granddaughter.
Some people say what? This isn't another Antz/A Bugs Life scenario. In any event, Dreamworks animation is rubbish.
Love Pixar, have been looking forward to this, but does look kinda silly. Sad that 3D animation quality seems to have plateaued in the mid-2000s. Uncanny valley is just too wide?
Absolutely awesome animation on that curly red hair!

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see it.
ReplyDeleteI love to see strong female characters, it warms me heart, ti really does.
Also; Billy Connolly plays the dad. That is right up there with George Carlin being Mr. Conductor.
I really don't see much similarity at all, other than maybe the general time period. This looks like a winner to me!

I think Disney finally took note of all the texts pointing out how sexist Disney kids movies are.
