World stock markets: 10-year performance

An annotated graph of the FTSE [U.K.], FTSE Europe, S&P [U.S.], and the Nikkei [Japan] for the past ten years.  If things go well this year, the 10-year returns could begin to approach 0%.

Found at the Financial Times; the link also has graphs for bonds, interest rates, and commodities.  Click to enlarge image.

  1. "...the 10-year returns could begin to approach zero." That's one of the most depressing things I've ever heard. I think I'll go spend some money on durable goods now, since they hold value better than any of my investments have.
