Kerri Strug's vault in the 1996 Olympics
A post at Uncouth Heathen yesterday reminded me about Kerri Strug's famous vault, which I remember watching on television. On her first attempt she injured her ankle, and then was told (incorrectly, as it was later determined) that for the team points she had to go again. It was an unforgettable moment.
If you were in the US at the time, you weren't watching it live. NBC showed it (like most everything else) on tape delay!
