De Niro was also entranced by the movies, and he quit high school at age 16 to pursue acting. Studying under Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg, De Niro first attended the Little Red School House and was then enrolled by his mother at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art in New York, a division of which... was attended by fellow Godfather II actor Al Pacino.
I'll bet the photo is from that time at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art. Those are high school faces.
Al Pacino on the left?
ReplyDeleteSure, and DeNiro on the right.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I posted it on my blog, with credit/link to you.
ReplyDeleteIf the photo was taken in 1977, then it was AFTER release of The Godfather and The Godfather, Part II.
ReplyDeleteCCL
@CCL - oops - that would be hard to believe. I'll recheck.
ReplyDeleteThis is the link that said 1977 -

but Pacino looks younger than he did in Godfather. Pacino was born in 1940. This photo must be from the 1960s.

you all need to go watch Godfather again.... these are not high school faces. I think the 1977 date is accurate
ReplyDeleteSean, you may be right. Here's Pacino definitely in 1977 -
