"...in honor of Saint Anthony, the patron saint of animals"

Here's the full caption, from Boston.com's The Big Picture:

My irony meter just went through the roof.

  1. The horses aren't being hurt; they're going through the flames too fast.

Stunning photos. Loved the one of the Vikings sitting around having tea!

  2. St. Anthony is also the patron saint of things that are lost and so is probably trying to help the rider find his mind. Horses have a natural fear of fire and an act like this is dumb as well as a bit cruel. But I would pay a dollar or so to see that stupid rider get naked and jump through the fire by himself. The horse would probably kick in a buck or two to see that as well. Singed hair really stinks, trust me on that.

  3. Wow. That photo is just extraordinary. Almost magical.
