When I think of how much drama this must have generated as it unfolded (note the straight present before the straight flush), it really makes me wonder whether the sequence was manipulated by the producers of the television show.

  1. Keep in mind there are many, many hands being played in any given tournament. Film enough of them and you'll find some amazing narratives.

  2. Huh, on looking at this again, it seems like the Ace of diamonds fell on the river... which means that this went from three of a kind losing to a straight, to four of a kind losing to a straight flush.

If the producers wanted to produce drama they would have swapped the turn and the river.

  3. Actually, that is a Royal Flush. Nothing beats a royal flush. And to get it on the turn and on the river, WOW!
