MILWAUKEE - Some parents of University of Wisconsin students are raising alarm after learning their children's personal information is being sold for a small fee.
Students' so-called directory information is considered public, and UW-Madison will provide it to anyone for $90. Registrar Joanne Berg says the fee covers the university's cost and is not a profit. UW-Milwaukee has a similar policy...
Directory information can include students' names, campus and home addresses, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, birthdays and more.
Draheim says students can request their directory information be kept private, but many don't know that.
