If there were anything on Earth which could make me believe in God, one would be the Rachmaninoff Second Piano Concerto. There is no music more beautiful, deeper, or, more moving. I have trouble believing that my rock cold, uncaring father actually heard him in person in Chicago in the first decades of the 1900s, while not yet in his teens, and still remained such a sarcastic and frigid person throughout his life. Oops, sorry, I got a little carried away there.
