Drought in Kenya
A man tried to lift a weak cow among carcasses of drought-stricken cattle at the Kenya Meat Commission factory Wednesday. Farmers are trying to cut their losses by selling the sick livestock for meat.
Such a very, very sad photo - although one has to wonder sometimes whether these events are just the consequence of vagaries of weather, or whether various societal pressures are driving men to live in areas that were never suitable for farming and ranching.

There are probably a number of reasons. I'm currently starting to read collapse by Neil Diamond, and I highly recommend it. I'm sure overpopulation and the use of water resources is partly to blame, as is climate change, agricultural practices, and probably many other things.
