Built in Jutland in 1900, abandoned to the shifting dunes in 2002. Photos from a
set of 50 at Widelec.
A fascinating sequence (and some of the photos sadly document the tendency of people to scrawl graffiti everywhere). I'm reminded of a recent story (?Atlantic, ?Harpers) re the original sets of some Star Wars movies buried beneath the shifting sand dunes in the American southwest.
It would have to be movies made after the first one for the sets. I thought the desert scenes for the first Star Wars (I guess that is Episode IV) movie was filmed "on location" in Tunisia.
