Planet of the Arabs
Based on the book "Reel Bad Arabs," this is a compilation of film clips which shows how Arabs have been depicted in Hollywood movies. This was an official selection for the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. It would be interesting to see similar data based on European or Australian films, to see if the phenomenon is Hollywood-specific or more general.
Almost all German TV shows and movies bend over backwards not to play the Muslim card.
Of course, we have our own set of prejudices which are catered to.
But even if young immigrants of arab descent are the bad guys, they are bad because they are young and foreign, not because they are Muslim. So yes, I would say the "all Muslims want to kill everyone else" theme is mostly US-based.
My favorite was Saturday Night Lives' parody of the Beverly Hillbillies.
