Why truck wheels have plastic strips on them


They allow the driver to ascertain whether the wheels are rotating.  Explained at Jalopnik. (They are not the same as the loose wheel nut indicators)

    I hadn't noticed these before (nor the loose wheel nut indicators), but will certainly be looking for them now!

    I hadn't noticed them either but have seen the loose lug nut pointers.
