Presumably intentional, and I'm guessing from the 1940s or so. But where?

A hat tip to A. Fischer for suggesting this is one of the statues in Washington Park, Chicago. I'm sure that is correct, and that the phallic nature of the statue is unintentional (unless the sculptor had a wry sense of humor...).
Modern photo (from a somewhat less suggestive angle) is here.

ReplyDeleteI think it might be an odd angle of the statues in Washington Park near Hyde Park in Chicago.
ReplyDeleteThere are several geotagged pictures in google maps but not quite at that angle. The name is "The Fountain of Time" by Lorado Taft. Even the surprisingly complete wikipedia page doesn't have the phallic angle.
I second A. Fischer.. This is the Fountain of Time located on 57th St. right by the UIC and Museum of Science and Industry.
ReplyDeleteIt's from the Kingdom of Schlongdem.
ReplyDeleteNot UIC and Museum of Science and Industry but U of C (University of Chicago not University of Illinois - Chicago)
