The photo was taken in the Arashiyama bamboo forest in Kyoto (source credit not given at the via). I am intrigued by the fence along the trail, which seems to be woven of grasses bound to the horizontal bamboo by lashings in a manner similar to the construction of vintage brooms. (click for bigger)
This looks both otherworldly and serene. What a beautiful place and photo.
ReplyDeleteHaving been there myself back in 2008, the fence is made of bunched-up dried bamboo branches (bamboo leaves removed)!
