I joined the r/scams sub this year and found it fascinating. Learning a lot, amazed at the variety of scams. There really needs to be some of the gaps filled in to block some of these scams. Gift cards and crypto are horrible forms of payment, that let scammers runaway with people's money.
The answer to this posting is this: The payment of $100 is fraudulent. If you repay the sender, you have laundered their stolen money and made a non-reversable voluntary transaction. The sender should initiate a recall with Apple on the wrong payment if it was indeed in error.
