I know that is a cynical take (even if from a non-cynical child), but it's not hard to see life as pretty much that way. We work to have money...but because we work, we do not have as much time to enjoy life...and if we aren't working, we don't have enough money to enjoy life. When you finally finish working, there's not much life left, it seems.
