Coping with amelia
Amelia is the term for a birth defect involving defective or absent limb growth. Videos like the above (or those of the Special Olympics etc) are worth saving for use if/when one becomes upset with a personal impairment. There's always someone worse off, and the coping ability of people is awe-inspiring.
You are correct. The a- prefix strictly indicates complete absence (though the term is typically used for partial deficiencies). The better term for partial defects would be dysmelia.
