If that quote is correct, I have been quoting it incorrectly for years! I thought it was "When you have eliminated all other possibilities, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the the truth.
It actually doesn't make sense the way it is apparently written. How do you eliminate the impossible??? Isn't it eliminated apriori?
