Sorry for the off topic post:
ReplyDeleteSo no note on the disappearance of the comments for "Dechurching?" Or is there an issue with my browser?
Sounds reasonable. I suppose my comment was not exactly on topic. As you often point out, it is your blog and you determine what gets published. This is as it should be.
DeleteThanks for the response.
It seemed to me that almost none of the commenters had bothered to click on and read the source material I embedded, which was the fourth part of a series. The previous parts had dealt with rising atheism, agnosticism, disgust with Christian hate groups and pedophile priests. This article was about people who maintain their religious beliefs choosing not to attend services in the sanctuaries (de-churching, not de-religioning) (sic). Comments were becoming trollish ("all religion is evil"), and I get tired of curating that kind of bullshit. I think in the future I'll set up most religion posts as I do with the occasional Trump posts, with no comments allowed. I've got other things to do.
