Nobody has to do this. Nobody is paid to do this. People do this because they are basically nice.
This notice was posted on Facebook by the Longville Campground Residents group. I am sure there are similar volunteer organizations around the country.
We spend our summers in northern Wisconsin (Eagle River area). Everyone on our little lake considers themselves to be stewards of the loons, ospreys and bald eagles who live and breed here. I have seen neighbors run boaters out of the bay where we have a nesting platform for the loons. And the offenders are always non residents who come in using our public boat landing.
