I've never understood why so many lobster rolls in new england have mayo and celery. Just put the lobster meat on a hot dog roll with a side of drawn butter and I'm a happy camper.
Growing up in New England I thought Lobster is highly overrated, if it weren't for the butter (or some other condiment) it would have no flavor at all. I'd much prefer crab.
Can't agree with you there. But, then again, I dislike highly spiced (or anything-spiced for that matter) foods. I wonder if some people just detect flavors some can't -- or taste them more. I never use butter on lobster since then it tastes only of butter!
A slight aside but I REALLY wish the term "porn" hadn't become a go-to for anything that is a picture of THINGS that are desirable. It just underscores the fact that real porn turns women into things.
An alternate word is "pron". It uses the same letters, but slightly re-arranged. It was supposed to mean that the contents were about "THINGS that are desirable" but that they were not pornographic.
Not even slightly appealing to me... perhaps because I’ve never had a “lobster roll”. In fact, I’ve never even heard of one... they don’t seem to be a thing here (Sydney, AU)
I'm drooling just looking at them!!!

ReplyDeleteThe best buttered toasted buns are made in Quebec, where they are used to serve chien chauds.
