Probably hard to make this comment without sounding sanctimonious. But, I think we should approach the consumption of animal foods with shame. That is, with shame being a step toward not consuming them at all, or at least far less. This video strikes me as devoid of respect for the animals involved. Animals that no doubt lived horrible lives and died horrible deaths. I can't see humanity making any moral progress without learning to tune-in to unnecessary suffering all its forms, and seeking justice for suffering people, animals and ecosystems. Ignoring a daily, 30 billion-animal holocaust seems like a lost opportunity to move the needle on moral progress. Today, we'll have an overly elaborate plant-based/vegan Thanksgiving dinner. It'll be amazing. And, no doubt, next to the mashed potatoes and stuffing there's a big bowl of sanctimony. It's in the air we breathe, being a companion on any moral slog.
I'm all for compassion and getting humans off meat for scaling reasons alone... But in the meantime let's focus on the torture humans do to each other first. Our species comes first, for me.
I used to listen to WBZ Boston every night in '62-'64, Summer was fantastic with the password and lead in to songs that would continue a story he was telling. xoxoxoBruce
I got exhausted just watching her make this. I can't imagine doing it myself. I think I'll just stick with turkey, thanks.
