One night a group of my friends were at a comedy club and the comedian said, "So I went to a computer dating service. Got a virus." My friends were the only ones who laughed because this was 1987 and most of the audience had never heard the term. That comedian was about twenty years ahead of his time. This individual is quite a bit more behind that.
A sizable portion of my job is psychiatric diagnosis. Best practice dictates that I don't offer one here, but I will say that this sort of thing is consistent with milder forms of later-onset schizophrenia or a similar delusional disorder. Often people with onset as adults retain a lot of their global function, but that's not a hard rule. I'd love to interview this person.
I like it that they want to spread such hate of computers via ... an internet connected computer !
ReplyDeleteBut what if I think they make good sense, am I crazy then?

Never knew T. rexes had computers. Especially that one that left the fossil behind showing bone cancer.
