This body of work consists of three simple materials that, when combined, produce the portraits: a wooden panel painted a solid white, thousands of small galvanized nails, and a single, unbroken, common sewing thread.To see a detailed close-up photo, click the link provided in AM's comment (below).
She also created a second set of images by taking "regular denim material" and "removing part of the weave."

Thank you, AM. I wonder if the artist uses knots somewhere in the process (it would still be an "unbroken" thread) to help maintain tension and prevent disaster if the thread breaks.
