I first saw this series in 2016 and rated it 4+ (i.e., excellent and worth re-watching).  Fortunately after 9 years I had forgotten enough details to allow me to enjoy the second viewing all over again.  Still superb, with stellar performances by the cast in a storyline crafted by John le Carré.  I found the six-episode two-disc DVD in our library so as not to have to endure the ads while streaming via Amazon Prime.
Another John le Carré novel made into an excellent miniseries is "The Little Drummer Girl", which featured a young Florence Pugh.
ReplyDeletei like(d) the premise of the series. Still having th eDVD, i was going to re-watch it, but as I recall, a bit too violent at times. Meaning, too much violence shown on the screen. Instead, I watched "Dave" and then the seduction part of "The Graduate". Ann Bancroft has some great lines there!
