2) listening to people speaking Scottish English.
Re the latter, may I heartily recommend the movies of Kelly Macdonald (Trainspotting x2, No Country For Old Men, but especially Puzzle).

ReplyDeleteDo you know the comedian/raconteur Billy Connelly? That's some hilarious Scottish English and no mistake! I can certainly recommend a few clips if you don't.

ReplyDeleteOn the accent thing, I'd also recommend the songs of Eddi Reader. It's definitely more Glasgow that the Skye / West Coast lilt, but.... lovely.)
