Not at all a fan of the man as a comedian. In fact, I'd go so far to say that I despised him as a comedian. However, my heart grew heavy with the news and I can genuinely say the world lost a great talent.
Four decades of entertaining kept him alive. His own personal demons wouldn't let him keep his head above the grey tide any longer. His extensive body of work will leave so many of us with tears in our eyes , from sorrow and joy, until the tide washes us away.
Nanu Nanu ~
ReplyDeleteI have so many memories of his brilliant performances and now such sadness that life was no longer bearable for him. Peace to his family and friends.

ReplyDeleteClarification before that last comment becomes more than it is. I was referring to his physical comedy and stand-up. His subtle humor was masterful.

ReplyDeleteSo grateful I got to see him perform live at the Blaisdell when he was here. Still cry when I think his genius is gone.
