Parody of "Last Train to Clarksville"

“They’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,” Trump claimed during a debate segment on immigration. “They’re eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”

When the ABC debate moderator David Muir informed him that the story had been debunked, Trump stood by the claim, saying he had seen it “on television”.

The rumour had also been disseminated by JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, who in the aftermath of the debate justified doing so.
Trump and Vance seem to be doubling down on the assertions.  Trump posted this AI-generated image of himself protecting cats and ducks on an airplane:

  1. Since when are ducks pets, and since when do we not eat duck? It's delicious.

Couple of miles from my home, there's a Duck House restaurant where they sell delicious duck. It's a local favorite. In France, I had fantastic duck stew.

You can't tell me that a rich guys like TFG and his stumbling mate never had goose liver pâté.

Since when are Republicans against eating road kill or hunting?

These guys..... They only get their racism right.

    1. Nepkarel, I'm guessing (and it's only that) that the rumors began when some locals saw immigrants harvesting wild ducks from local ponds or lakes for food.

    2. There was a picture of a man carrying Canada geese that Republicans were using to "prove" claims of Haitians eating pets. Those continue even though Vance admitted he made up the story.
The infamous picture has turned out to be of a man merely moving roadkill.

    3. @Minnesotastan: I know, I'm just trying to point out that these guys can't even make their made-up bullshit make sense.

To me, the surest way of figuring out something is a conspiracy theory is that it makes no internal sense. Which is ironic, because they're made-up, so there's not reason for internal contradictions.

  2. Ironically, if you're worried someone might try to eat your dog, don't call the cops (in the USA anyway), because they're more likely to shoot your dog than for it to be eaten by immigrants. As I learned from a depressing Imgur video that said cops shoot 30 dogs a day in America.

  3. I'm all for mocking how ridiculous this claim is, but I live near Springfield and it has been a living nightmare since the debate. Kids can't go to school due to all the bomb threats, masked neo Nazis are "patrolling" the streets armed to the teeth, the hospital was shut down over the weekend, a college campus had active shooter scares.... All for one easily-debunked racist rumor! Ohioans generally love their immigrant communities, so this national embarrassment doesn't really reflect the Ohio I know and experience every day.
People from this area will tell you: if anyone should be kicked out of the country for damaging Springfield, it's the Sacklers.

  4. Outside of Springfield a lot of people have moved on but things are still bad there. Hopefully, though, there will be consequences.
