High school girl punished for dancing

"A high school senior in Louisiana was stripped of her student government president title and scholarship opportunities after a video circulating on social media showed the 17-year-old girl dancing with friends at a party last week.

Kaylee Timonet, a senior at Walker high school, was seen dancing at a private homecoming afterparty on 30 September, behind a friend who was twerking. Earlier this week, the school principal said he would revoke her leadership role and assistance in scholarship applications.

“They basically told me that I should be ashamed of myself,” Timonet told a local news outlet. “That I wasn’t basically following God’s ideals, which made me cry even more.”...

“I just started crying hysterically,” Timonet said. “I was really, really upset because student government is the best thing that happened to me during high school.”

The mother, who was present at the event, added that the student body paid for the private venue at the Livingston Parish Country Club, as well as for the DJs performance.

They were just having fun,” Timonet’s mother said. “She should not be questioned or spoken about faith at all. It’s a public school, not a private school.”
If anyone finds a GoFundMe link for a college scholarship for this young lady, please let us know.

  1. Can't find one yet, but at least the local school board is making noises about investigating:

  2. That won't cause any bitterness and will cause those students to toe the line. NOT.
Doesn't that principal know he shot himself in the foot with the next generation?

  4. If a school principal can't see a young lady dance without thinking about the Bible, he is not suitable for his position. Those two subjects are not related. Unless he is thinking of the Song of Songs.

Also, he's a sexist pig that should be no where young girls. Or women in general.

He should quickly be removed from his job, and as a plea-deal for the inevitable lawsuit I suggest he do a year of credits in DEI, LGBTQ and equality studies at the local university.

    1. A year of DEI, LGBTQ, equality studies? Let's go a little easier on the guy and maybe pull out his entrails and burn them on a bed of coals. I think the 9th Amendment prohibits forcing people to endure gender studies torture sessions. And don't the Geneva Conventions apply in the identity ideology war?

  5. The girl's scholarship opportunities should not be taken from her, I don't believe. But the presidency of student government? That sounds about fair, after all she displayed actions that are contrary to solid leadership.

There are people who make up the lewdest dances possible (see "daggering"). It is usually part of a sliver of black society. To be in a party where that was going on...well, you can't help what someone else is doing, but you don't have to get in the picture with them. The blatant sexualization of our young ladies is reprehensible.

    1. Did you watch the video? Can you explain to me like I’m 5 how she displayed actions contrary to solid leadership? Please do enlighten us.

    2. to the fellow anonymous above: with the american religious types, the argument usually boils down to a lot of (more or less flowery) words that mean ‘a woman expressed joy’ (which is both unprofessional and unbecoming, for women are to be kept subservient to men and birthing their offspring.) and ‘that thing the woman did elicited a reaction in my nether regions’ (which does not mean there’s something weird about the person who got the boner, but that the thing the woman did was purely and objectively sexual, and, as per above, women are not to express any sexuality, because that is uncouth, immoral, and unbecoming.)

i don’t know how that is supposed to make sense either.

  6. I've seen maybe four articles on this story, and now I've even seen the video, and I still can't figure out what was so objectionable about the dancing, or why this one girl was singled out among all these kids.

  7. I guess that Antony Blinken should lose his position for playing the Muddy Waters song "Hoochie Coochie Man" at the State Dept. on Sept 27, 2023?

Or maybe that was a covert message to the rest of the world not mess with the hoochie coochie man?

    1. Well, he should lose his position, but not for singing. Of course, I’ve not heard him sing, so perhaps I should reserve judgment…

  8. The principal has retracted his decision, though too late to save Kaylee's scholarships, which were due October 3, and now he has taken a leave of absence. Kaylee, bless her heart, has lawyered up.

  9. lawyered up - if she wins, the other side should pay for her lawyer costs.

  10. Update: Principal has capitulated completely, and even seems to be switching jobs: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/oct/09/louisiana-principal-student-off-campus-dancing-apology

  11. Ok, the principal was a religious nutcase and flipped out. What about the other adults in the room? Did the entire school administration tacitly agree with his decision? didn't anyone notice the principal was off the rails?
