"Protruding iris collarette"

The iris collarette is a landmark that separates the central pupillary zone from the peripheral ciliary zone. It is typically flat but can be prominent, as seen in this patient. This finding is a normal variant. It is benign and asymptomatic and requires no treatment.

  1. I think this one really stands out because of how flat the strands are on the stroma (I could have my anatomy wrong here). I've taken lots of eye pictures but I've only ever seen one person with eyes that were as flat as this one.

I have one of those collarettes but it's far less noticable amongs the other textures.
