Addendum: Reposted because today I found the perfect photo to explain Jessica's confusion:

  1. I wonder how old they all are. Are they homeschooled?

  2. Oh, please. Most homeschoolers I'm familiar with are at the top of the curve. Not falling of the edge of the world.

  3. I don't want to be a jerk, but I'M confused as to what she actually was picturing! What was the way she thought it works? I guess I'm so familiar with gravity and the concept of a globe now that I can't picture it working any other way...

That's okay though, I'm very well-educated but even I sometimes can't get my head around the fact that we can take a photo of something and "blow-up" the photo to be larger than actual size. Haha! Sadly, I'm serious. Sigh, takes all kinds.

  4. I wonder,is it brown gravaty or country style gravaty that holds down the plains?

  5. This could be a good lesson in problem solving for these confused kids. Unfortunately, they have obviously been given no tools in this all important skill.

Actually, the plane would be upside down from her point of view. If she were standing at the North Pole and a plane flew over heading to the South Pole and she could follow its path there then the plane would look upside down to her. However, the plane's wheels(or maybe they need skis to land in Antarctica) would still be facing the Earth there so landing wouldn't be a problem.

BTW, it's definitely sausage gravaty holding the plain to the biscuit.

  6. Jessica's confusion about gravity is less of a concern than the spelling of Little. It's almost as if she has a special program that swaps all the vowels around.

And I think it is onion gravaty.
