NPR offers a list of "100 best beach books"

Chosen by 16,000 NPR visitors, and referring, of course, to "lightweight" summertime reading.  I've only read 24 of them, so I guess I must have a penchant for "heavier" fare.

I don't understand how Marquez' "One Hundred Years of Solitude" or Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead fit into this classification.  But, of course, lists are just lists, and there are endless numbers of them.

I won't bother to copy and paste.  The list is at the NPR website.

  1. I've read 68 of them. Personally, I enjoy reading Plutarch at the beach. He's such a gossip!
