"Get some inertia going..."

Winter driving tips published in our local community's newsletter:
"Don't stop if you can avoid it.  There's a big difference in the amount of inertia it takes to start moving from a full stop versus how much it takes to get moving while still rolling..."

"Don't power up hills... Try to get a little inertia going before you reach the hill and let that inertia carry you to the top..."

"Don't stop going up a hill... Get some inertia going on a flat roadway before you take on the hill..."

("Informational tips were provided with the assistance from AAA")
Good grief.

  1. Well, duh, don't you remember your basic high school physics? It takes force to start an object moving, and momentum is what keeps it going, so inertia is momentum/force. Obvs. (And also explains why I can't get out of this chair.)
