Impressive ice hockey goal

By a 9-year-old. And he's not even from Minnesota.

Explanation here.

  1. What incredible physical grace he has. Poetry in motion, as they say.

  2. Did you look at the goalie? He was looking around saying what?... where?... how?... and maybe some other things, too.

Of course, this trick shot will work only once, but, it sure was impressive the first time.

  3. I love these shots, although not new an have since been made illegal.

A similar shot was being used from behind the net and picked up and thrown into the upper left or right corner of the net.

Rule #25.2 "puck must be kept in motion towards the opponent’s goal line"

  4. Rule #25.2 wasn't in effect when I managed a hockey team. I should think it would be difficult to enforce, since I'm sure they don't intend to outlaw feints, dribbling, backpasses and dozens of other age-old maneuvers.

  5. Sorry if I was too vague, forward motion is meant in terms of shots on goal. Meaning, backward passes are completely legal, but a backwards "pass" that went into net unassisted would be deemed illegal.

  6. Understood. I wonder if the rule would preclude the "lacrosse"-type shots from behind the net executed by lifting the puck on the blade of the stick.
