Geocities is closing - check your bookmarks!

This notice was sent out this week to everyone with a Geocities page:

We're writing to remind you that Yahoo! GeoCities, our free web site building service and community, is closing on October 26, 2009.

On October 26, 2009, your GeoCities site will no longer appear on the Web, and you will no longer be able to access your GeoCities account and files.

Even if you don't have a Geocities page, if you've been an active web surfer, you probably have Geocities links; I found 28 of them in my bookmarks folder - some of them very informative reference sources.

Since you can't be certain that the person who created the Geocities page will transfer the data/photos to another website, now would be a good time to go through your links and see if there is anything you need to save.
