An outstanding example, nicely documented in Marcy O'Connor's absolutely outstanding Prairie Haven blog. This is one of the photos for August 2026. I encourage readers who are interested in the natural world to explore Prairie Haven, both in the monthly photo collections, and in the comprehensive listings of the "farm inventory" (wildlife) seen at this location over the past 26 years as it has been "unfarmed" back to its natural state.
