Iran's enriched uranium

Embedded above is a screencap from an impressive New York Times article explaining how Iran accumulated 11 tons of nuclear material.

The graph depicts uranium at various "grades" from low-level (grayish) to enriched (darker) and weapons grade (blackish).
"As the stockpile kept growing, the Obama administration began talks to curb it.  In 2015, Iran and six nations led by the United States reached an accord that limited the purity of its enriched uranium to 3.67 percent and the size of its stockpile until 2030... Iran lacked a single bomb’s worth of uranium in 2018, when Mr. Trump withdrew the United States from the pact and reimposed a series of tough economic sanctions."

  1. We'd be lucky if we could go back to where we were in 2015 but there are so many reasons that won't happen.

  2. Still have problems understanding how the USA can dictate what another country has, weapons wise, when it seems to forego it's own people's health, housing and education, while building the world's largest arsenal.

Sort of equates to me having 30 silver tipped flaming arrows in my quiver, stone filled slingshots in my pockets, big sharpened sticks in my hands ... and demanding with the threat of unleashing all I have, that my neighbour gets rid of his pea shooter.

Could maybe use the excuse that my neighbour is a different colour to me, or maybe that he has a different pretend god in the clouds, or that he wears a piece of material wrapped around his head like a weirdo .... or all three ... but if the tables were turned and my neighbour had all those hand held semi-primitive weapons, and I was here in my home with paper darts ... well, I reckon I could call my neighbour a damn bully and braggart, a self appointed policeman of the world, an un-rhyming named piece of fruit, a buffoon, a female genitalia ..... many other such names.

I learnt in my teenage years that there is only one way to stop a bully.

Tried to tie the 30 silver tipped arrows in with some bible story, but it has been a while since I was forced to read that work of friction.
