Unusual find in a field


Rather unusual discovery noticed while hiking in a central Wisconsin field and posted on Facebook.  Identification at the link.

  1. And if you can't access the link, this comment at that thread: "We've always called them brush markers. They are used to mark things, like locations of future digging, but are flexible so they dont break if they get run over, for instance, like a stake might.

  2. For us who don't FB, is it Indian Pipes or a plastic brush marker?

    1. "It is a marker. If you pull it up, there is a spike. I have used these before to mark field trials." (perhaps it has been run over by a lawn mower a couple times?)
