Iridescent pileus cloud


This was totally new to me.  Explained at NASA's Astronomy Photo of the Day and at this Wikipedia entry.

  3. China has been doing a ton of cloud seeding to fight off a drought, wonder if this could be related at all?

    1. Not saying it couldn't, but cloud iridescence is a completely natural phenomenon. No chemicals (other than water) needed!
