His bare legs are briefly visible in a video embedded in the Washington Post today. The atrophy of the quads is quite evident to the experienced eye. The video is a compilation of clips from home movies that were not released for public viewing; the press at the time shared a gentlemen's agreement not to photograph or film evidence of his impairment, which is why he is seldom depicted standing (and rarely walking).
