The definitive rules regarding airplane armrests

The illustration is very generous in its seat width; there are usually about 4 inches (10 cm) less between the seats. This means you sit almost shoulder to shoulder and if arms are relaxed, the two people sitting next to each other are often touching upper arms or elbows. During the flight Mr Window has to lean to the window, Mr. Aisle leans towards the aisle, and Mr Center is stuck in a scrunch mode. Airlines, please give us wider seats!
I sit on the aisle if I can, but one of the risks is getting your outside kneecap removed by a passing beverage cart.
ReplyDeleteBoth armrests for the middle seats are the bonus one gets for getting stuck in the centre. They are the least desirable seats.
ReplyDeleteAnother way to solve the problem is for airlines to stop thinking of humans as sardines.
