Posted for the large group* of librarians who are readers here.  Via.

* I don't know the venereal term used for librarians.  Addendum:  Seven suggestions offered by readers in the comments.

  1. A catalog. A group of librarians is called a catalog.

  2. A story of librarians ?
Maybe with an E if they work in a larger, multi-floored, library.

  3. If we can accept "a murmuration of sparrows" I suggest a "susurration of librarians".

    1. A "murmuration" is generally considered the correct term for a group of starlings. Sparrows in a group are generally referred to as a "host."

  4. this is great. Something new and different PLUS repurposing an old space for a surprising new use. Anything to get people reading, I say HOORAY! .

  5. Not sure if these are in any way official, but a Google search for 'collective noun for librarians' produced: a catalog of librarians, a stack of librarians, and (my personal favorite) a shush of librarians.

  6. A shelf of librarians. A signature of bookbinders.
