"This has never been done before"

"During a Friday evening press conference at his Bedminster golf course, the esteemed President Donald J. Trump finally announced a momentous step in the sweeping healthcare reform plan he's been promising for years:
"Over the next two weeks I’ll be pursuing a major executive order requiring health insurance companies to cover all preexisting conditions for all companies. That's a big thing. I've always been very strongly in favor. We have to cover pre-existing conditions so we will be pursuing a major executive order requiring health insurance companies to cover all pre-existing conditions for all of its customers. This has never been done before."
The decade-old Affordable Care Act that already did this was not available for comment."
From the POTUS who said "Nobody knew health care could be so complicated."  Text from BoingBoing.

  1. This actually makes perfect sense given Trump's history. He has a compulsive need to erase all things Obama. There are two reasons for this. One is that Obama was every bit a statesman and well respected globally, two, among many things, that Trump can never measure up. Trump can never admit that someone is better than him at anything for any reason. His inferiority complex will not allow it. As such, he's been trying to erase every policy, every bill and every achievement Obama made during his presidency. Despite all of his efforts, there have been things he simply has been unable to undo, such as Obamacare. With his prospects of re-election dwindling, he's taking the next logical step: Claiming any of Obama's remaining achievements as his own.

(And no, I didn't forget the second reason. It's either painfully obvious to you or you'll deny it regardless of what evidence is given, thus not worth my time.)

  2. The first step to destroying your enemies is to blame everything that you're guilty of on them, first. The second step is to claim responsibility for everything good they ever did. Trump in a nutshell.

  3. Don't get me started. But I see I've come to a like-minded blog.

  4. The problem with the man (and I use that word loosely) is that he has never actually done anything. He is very good at attracting people that do things for him. Their biggest job is covering for him and that works pretty well in quick turn-around deals with little to no scrutiny like in real estate. But on a longer perspective, they can't cover up that he is just not doing his job.

It's most on display during the pandemic. He is not doing anything. Nothing.

I mean, really. Ask yourself: What has Donald Trump himself actually done in the last few years?

  5. I cannot believe that my friends to the south have allowed things to become as bad as they have. As just one example,Trump had suggested sending military force to protect your border from Canada when signs and phone calls would suffice. If our mutual border is closed for any reason that is quite fine without the armed troops thank you. What president in living memory would even think of such a thing? We have been allies and friends for quite a long time and through many armed conflicts. To treat one of your closest allies in this manner is insulting and short sighted. This is just one small example of your current president's behaviour that unfortunately constantly embarrasses you all. Trump is not only an international joke but seems quite dangerous as well. Remember this small example of his behaviour and then try to imagine the enormity of his transgressions against the American People and the rest of the world. I urge you all to remove him from power by any legal means as soon as possible. Love and best wishes and hope for a better trump free future.
