Asking for suggestions re Father Brown

I've finished reading all the John Dickson Carr/Carter Dickson mysteries.  Carr apparently was an admirer of G.K. Chesterton's classic "Father Brown" series of mysteries.  Can a reader here recommend a selection of his short stories? I don't have time to read everything, so I'd like to sample the best.  Thanks in advance.

  1. A question with scary undertones. Why no time to read as much as you wish? Going somewhere?

    3. My wife has a similar one -

      - on her bookshelf, but it's 700+ pages, so I'm trying to narrow my selections down to just an evening or two of leisurely reading.

    4. Oops. Now I see your suggestion is 15 essential stories, not the entire corpus. And it's in our library system. Will request it. Tx.

  2. Father Brown (both the new and the 1974 original) television series are available on both BRITBOX.com and Amazon prime.

The original series was underwhelming (to me), but I do love the new series with Mark Williams (he played Rory's dad on Dr Who, way back in the Matt Smith days).

Haven't read the books - but I do recommend the new series (season 8 now airing)
